What's Happening

A Hitachi Energy / Larsen & Toubro (L&T) consortium signed a new Framework Cooperation Agreement with TenneT in July 2026, continuing execution of the IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Nederwiek 1 offshore converter platforms and adding two new ones: Nederwiek 3 (Netherlands) and LanWin 5 (Germany). The program builds 525kV HVDC offshore converter platforms — a world-first voltage level for offshore wind grid connections.

NEXT MILESTONE — Detailed engineering and fabrication continuing on Nederwiek 1 and IJmuiden Ver Alpha; scope definition beginning on Nederwiek 3 and LanWin 5.
